Pure cotton fabric is one of the commonly used fabrics for clothing fabrics in our lives. It is divided into three categories according to different plant tissues: plain weave fabrics, twill fabrics, and satin fabrics.

Let's first understand what kind of cotton twill fabric is? Its material is cotton, so its organizational structure is characterized by a diagonal weave composed of warp (or weft) floating long lines on the surface of the fabric, so it is called pure cotton twill fabric! Twill fabrics are divided into two types: thick twill and fine twill.

1. The advantages of pure cotton twill fabric

1. Insulation

Because cotton fiber is a poor conductor of heat and electricity, the thermal conductivity is extremely low, and because cotton fiber itself has the advantages of porosity and high elasticity, a large amount of air can be accumulated between the fibers, and the air is a poor conductor of heat and electricity. Therefore, the twill fabric made of pure cotton has good thermal insulation, and wearing pure cotton fabrics makes people feel warm.

2. Alkali resistance

The resistance of pure cotton twill fabric is relatively large, and the cotton fiber will not be damaged in the alkaline solution. Various process processing to produce more new varieties of cotton weaving.

3. Heat resistance

The heat resistance of pure cotton fabrics is good. When the temperature is below 110°C, it will only cause the water on the fabric to evaporate without damaging the fibers. Therefore, the pure cotton fabrics have no effect on the fabrics under normal temperature, such as wearing, washing, printing and dyeing. Improves the washability and wearability of pure cotton fabrics.

4. Hygroscopicity

Pure cotton twill fabric has good hygroscopicity. Under normal circumstances, the fiber can absorb moisture into the surrounding atmosphere, and its moisture content is 8-10%, so it touches human skin, making people feel soft and not stiff. If the humidity of the cotton cloth increases and the surrounding temperature is high, the moisture contained in the fibers will all evaporate and dissipate, so that the fabric maintains a state of water balance and makes people feel comfortable.

Second, the shortcomings of pure cotton twill fabrics

1. It is easy to shrink. The shrinkage rate of pure cotton clothes is 2% to 5%, with the exception of special processing or washing.

2. It is easy to wrinkle, and it is more difficult to smooth after wrinkling.

3. It is easy to stick to the hair, and it is difficult to completely remove it.

4, easy to deform, lack of elasticity, pure cotton clothes will be easily deformed, especially summer clothes, because the fabric is relatively thin.
