Textile fibers have some comprehensive physical properties related to yarn quality and spinning difficulty, called spinnability. Under normal production conditions, the better the spinnability of the fiber, the better the yarn quality, and the easier the spinning process. The spinning method is different, the quality of the spun yarn and the requirements for the spinnability of the fiber are also different. Evaluate the spinnability of modern spinning based on product quality and technical and economic indicators. The individual physical properties of the fiber suggest its spinnability.
Length: When the natural fiber is long and regular, the yarn has high strength, uniform uniformity, smooth surface and less hairiness. Length is an important factor in determining spinnability. In addition to the length of the main body, the short fiber content has a greater impact on yarn strength and sliver uniformity. The length and uniformity of chemically cut fibers can be controlled. Too long length will not improve yarn quality, but it will cause processing difficulties and increase yarn defects.
Fineness: fine fiber, uniform yarn uniformity and high strength. But the fiber is too thin, the fiber is easy to twist and form neps, neps and other defects during processing. The fiber is thicker, the fabric is hard, wear-resistant and elastic. For coarser natural fibers, such as wool and hemp, fineness is the main factor determining spinnability. Wool fiber determines its spinnable quantity according to its diameter. Fineness is also the main basis for evaluating wool grade.
Strength: This is the most important factor that determines the strength of the yarn. When other conditions remain unchanged, the higher the fiber strength, the higher the yarn strength.
Impurities and defects: Impurities and defects can affect the spinning process and product quality. Although there are impurity removal measures in the spinning process, the impurity removal process will lead to further splitting of impurities and new defects. Therefore, the higher the content of impurity defects in the raw material, the worse the spinnability.
Sugar in cotton fiber, cotton wax and hemp gum in hemp fiber will affect the spinnability of the fiber, thereby affecting the spinning process and product quality.
