Rayon is a semi-synthetic fabric derived from the cellulose of plants like bamboo and trees. It’s created through a lengthy process that pairs plant matter with chemicals to soften it up.

Polyester is an entirely synthetic fabric that has a slightly harder surface. It is also shinier than rayon, visually resembling lustrous materials like silk.

1. Softness
If you are looking for a soft and comfortable fabric, rayon polyster is the perfect choice. It dries quickly and is breathable, allowing sweat to evaporate easily.

In addition, it doesn’t pill (the little balls of fiber that form on the outside of some fabrics) and is incredibly gentle on the skin. It can also be dyed to whatever color you want.

Rayon is a cellulosic material that is made from regenerated cellulose extracted from plant or wood pulp. It biodegrades very quickly under the right conditions.

2. Stretch
Rayon Polyster is a regenerated cellulosic fiber that is neither fully natural nor synthetic (like nylon or polyester). It has some of the properties of cellulosic fibers, including coolness, crease resistance and good drape.

This fabric is a great choice for making stylish apparel, decors, and accessories that are comfortable to wear and easy to care for. It also offers fluid draping that is perfect for bed linens, curtains, and other fluid-based furnishings.

However, rayon fabric can shrink if exposed to moisture and high heat. So, it is best to avoid using a dryer when it comes to resizing this type of fabric.

3. Breathability
Rayon Polyster is a light, breathable fabric that allows air to circulate freely. This makes it a great choice for garments that are designed to keep you cool and comfortable in hot climates.

Unlike polyester, rayon is also moisture-absorbent and wicks away sweat from the skin. This helps prevent you from getting too warm, which is important when wearing activewear or other sports-themed clothing.

Manufacturing processes for rayon, modal, and lyocell use toxic chemicals like caustic soda and carbon disulfide that can damage workers' health and the environment. However, some modern factories are making improvements and have taken steps towards sustainability.

4. Durability
Rayon is a semi-synthetic fiber that behaves in unique ways. Its strengths and weaknesses make it suitable for different purposes.

Durability is a key factor when choosing between polyester and rayon, particularly if you’re looking for something that can last a long time. While both fabrics can be washed and worn, polyester is more resistant to wrinkles, tears and shrinkage.

This makes it ideal for cold climates. On the other hand, rayon is more suitable for warm climates. It has a tendency to shrink, wrinkle and tear like natural fibers such as cotton.

5. Lightweight
Rayon Polyster is a lightweight, breathable fabric that feels silky and soft against the skin. It has a smooth texture and can be easily dyed to achieve bright, vibrant colors.

Polyester is another lightweight fabric that drapes well and lets a lot of the body's heat escape. It's ideal for summer clothing and can be blended with rayon to create a breathable, comfortable outfit.

Both fabrics have different strengths and weaknesses, but the choice depends on your personal needs. For example, if you need something that can handle tough activities, rayon is not the best option.
